No matter how hard you try, there'll always be detractors

"You're not Emissions-Free."

"You'll wake rowers and kayakers."

"You can't call yourself "Emissions free" because passengers will wear sneakers and those emit micro plastics on the deck and those go into the water." ~ from twitter.

"Emissions free" actually describes propulsion devoid of burning fossil fuels, not every aspect of making it or in this case, a passenger's clothing.

"You'll wake rowers and kayakers."

"You'll wake rowers and kayakers."

Please see our FAQs. Our boat is designed to be WAKELESS and PROFESSIONALLY CAPTAINED so that it doesn't wake.

"We don't have a traffic problem in Boston."

Are you sure you're in the same city we are?

Here's the math.

Boston: Traffic increased by 5.2% in August 2023 compared to August 2022

Cambridge: Traffic increased by 5.2% in August 2023 compared to August 2022

Newton: Traffic increased by 10.8% in August 2023 compared to August 2022

"It's too shallow to go upriver."

Please see our designs on our home page. Before we even decided to make this, we depth tested the river, found its shallowest points and designed the boat's draft to be less than that.

Additionally, Charles Eliot, the Harvard designer of the Charles River Basin, made four ornate "mother landings" for swimming, fishing and boating on the river in 1935. Three are in the Back Bay and the fourth, in Watertown. There was meant to be boat traffic between the two cities from day 1!

"Commuters will never use this!"

"The electricity you're charging with comes from oil."

Our preregistrations say different.

Also, as we've said from the beginning, it'll be tailored for commuters during the week, and on the weekends, it'll help bring people to and from the city for dining, Red Sox games, concerts, beergardens and more! It'll be for both!

"The electricity you're charging with comes from oil."

"The electricity you're charging with comes from oil."

We cannot change what comes from the electric company. That said, we'll charge its batteries like you charge any device you have; and it's augmented with solar panels on the roof of the boat.

Comments like this tend to be made by oil connected media people to sew doubt that electric isn't the future of transportation. Because they know it is. And they're worried.
